And mom will write back, “Thank you. Sorry I’m not feeling well and that those things you wrote on my card are too hard for you to do yourself but try it anyway. Love, Mom”.

You wanted kids, here is your reward

Mom should write back “I’m not making your bed because the monsters that used to be under your bed asked me not to.”

Nice to be the mom.

For some reason, “Sympathy for the Devil” springs to mind…..

Aww that’s so sweet. Even though I am a guy, I believe every mom wants to think she is needed and is indispensable to the survival of her young pups!

Calvin’s version of “When you care enough to send the very best” …

When did he care if the bed was made or his clothes put away?

How can Hobbes be hungry… I thought he was stuffed! ;)

Hobbes is a cat, so that is understandable.

I once sent a Mother’s Day card that said, “Remember all the grief and aggravation I used to cause… I’m almost done.”

And she thinks she’s unappreciated.

Maybe she needs “The Christmas Shoes”? Skip the song and just listen to Patton Oswalt’s explanation; hilarious!

He could have added, “By the way, where do we keep the fire extinguisher?”

“Sure, I too am hungry.”

Cal’s not very different from most 6-year-old boys…concepts like care, concern and others’ well-being are far from their minds.

Oh yeah, this was a nice story arc.

This is why Calvin’s cards don’t work right.

I do remember this one

That Calvin. He’s all heart.

Dad could fill in for hunger. Mom can take her own time to recover to mend your wardrobe and wash your cloths.

This reminds me of the Sunday strip where Calvin made his mother a Mother’s Day card. It consisted of a poem where he complains about how small his allowance is and asks her to get out of bed to make him breakfast.
