My sense is this the beginning of the soon to be famous Christmas story “The Christmas Hoop”. BTW, there is no form of animal excrement which rhymes with “Goal”.
I read basketball goal and didn’t think twice about it. I grew up in SE Massachusetts where a milk shake might be called a cabinet, a water cooler might be called a bubbler, and a rubber band was always called an elastic!
Meg seems to have a business model that works. Perhaps they need more chickens. They could sell eggs, dressed chicken meat, and organic high nitrogen fertilizer.

My basketball hoop was in a cow pasture… even worse.

Goal? Around here people call it a hoop. I guess it’s like the difference between soda, pop, and tonic. Or hero, sub, grinder, and hoagie.

Yeah, LeBron James always says the hardest thing about playing basketball is looking out for the chicken poop.

“Basketball goal” has GOT to be a regional thing. In Indiana, Florida, and Wisconsin, we just called it a hoop.

I can relate, Meg. Now I have them baned from the front yard. But they do have 1 1/2 acres to roam.

“Basketball Goal”??? What are you? Canadian? In 65 years, I’ve only ever heard them called Basketball Hoops.

Disgusting to walk in, but the manure is fantastic for plants.

This could be a metaphor for life: the poop that gets in the way of your dreams…

Isn’t it wonderful, with all the different dialects and different terminologies of things in this country? So interesting!!

Two points and a salmonella splat.

As if that is enough reason to not play!!
Sure they don’t bounce as well after a splat, but…mikeywilly about 3 years ago
