If memory serves, that word won a national spelling title for a young person some time in the 1950âs. I think the contestant was a young girl, maybe a 9th grader. Forget the show.
We had to learn that word in school when I went to school. It seems that it was a staple of schools to get us educated. I love the âIâ and âYâ interchangement when asked to spell the word!!!
A comic conundrum â if he can spell it in a word balloon, does that mean he should know how it is spelled? Truth is, spelling wasnât a solid âthingâ until the printing press became popular.
Actually itâs a word Iâve been able to spell from very young⊠but I still make mistakes with words with "y"s and "U"s and double consonants, and I was just putting a âuâ in âconsonantsâ until spell check corrected me!
