LOL, Jeff! I canāt count how many times Iāve gotten rid of a sock because its mate was missing. The sad part is, much, much later, the mate would show up, so, once again, I had a single sock. However, I could safely throw that one away, because the other one was in a landfill somewhere.
Slightly fold the top of one sock and tuck itās partner into the fold before tossing them in the wash. 9 time out of 10, the pair will stay together till the end.
Iāve only ālostā a sock once, and neither the washer nor drier was the culprit. The clothes chute exits alongside the chimney in the basement. One of the bricks snagged the sock when I sent an armload of dirty laundry down. It took two weeks before I noticed it.
Iām missing a sock right now, look for it all the time and it drives me nuts. I think the dryer is eating them to mess with me for not using fabric softener sheets.

Dryers are devious, they shred their victims and you donāt recognize the sock remains in the lint trap

End the fashion tyranny of Matching Socks! You should never have to throw away a sock because the other one has a hole in it. :)
