For some reason, Jimbo reminds me of Wilson on “Home Improvement”.

You understand that something is really wrong when Jimbo’s advice starts to make sense.

So the call is “very important” to them, but not important enough to actually answer.

You just gave your personal information to the Social Security officers and Amazon Security yesterday.

I did a POS hookup at a Zales store. Chicago had me on hold for 8 hours waiting to do a packet verification test. I’m a contractor and not cheap. The store went and got me lunch.

Believing that your call is important to the corporation that leaves you on hold for hours is the equivalent of believing, “I’m from the Government, and I’m here to help you.” If your call was actually important to them, they would hire more people to answer the phones.

When I am forced to contact customer service, I always use the chat option. If it’s not available, it’s kind of nice that more and more companies give you the call back option. So far all of their track records have been been pretty good.

Kimmy is starting to worry me. Maybe Jimbo ‘dodged a bullet’ with her rejecting him. Sometimes the cute ones aren’t the best ones?

I’d be a bit worried that Jimbo knows how long she has been on hold. How long has he been hanging around to time her on that call?

My limit on hold is about 10 minutes max. I don’t really mind listening to the Muzak on the line, but what aggravates me is having to listen to an advertisement or the “Your call is important to us” every 15 seconds!

I called a government office half an hour before they closed on a Friday and was put on ignore with the perpetual please stay on the line your call is important to us. I hung up about an hour after the office was supposed to be closed. I’ve always wondered if I would have been the first call answered when the office reopened on Monday if I had stayed on the line. I also wonder why they don’t clear the lines when the office closes by hanging up on everyone who is sitting on hold.
