I did a POS hookup at a Zales store. Chicago had me on hold for 8 hours waiting to do a packet verification test. Iām a contractor and not cheap. The store went and got me lunch.
Believing that your call is important to the corporation that leaves you on hold for hours is the equivalent of believing, āIām from the Government, and Iām here to help you.ā If your call was actually important to them, they would hire more people to answer the phones.
When I am forced to contact customer service, I always use the chat option. If itās not available, itās kind of nice that more and more companies give you the call back option. So far all of their track records have been been pretty good.
My limit on hold is about 10 minutes max. I donāt really mind listening to the Muzak on the line, but what aggravates me is having to listen to an advertisement or the āYour call is important to usā every 15 seconds!
I called a government office half an hour before they closed on a Friday and was put on ignore with the perpetual please stay on the line your call is important to us. I hung up about an hour after the office was supposed to be closed. Iāve always wondered if I would have been the first call answered when the office reopened on Monday if I had stayed on the line. I also wonder why they donāt clear the lines when the office closes by hanging up on everyone who is sitting on hold.

Kimmy is starting to worry me. Maybe Jimbo ādodged a bulletā with her rejecting him. Sometimes the cute ones arenāt the best ones?

Iād be a bit worried that Jimbo knows how long she has been on hold. How long has he been hanging around to time her on that call?
