Reminds me of The Mouse That Roared. Several US officers were almost inadvertently taken prisoner by a tiny country. The country’s officials meant no harm and treated them as honored guests with all the comforts, but one general insisted they were to be treated as prisoners of war. He would eat off of anything but tin plates.

Actually, that sort of hits home. You can go to a great place, even Oahu, and have a miserable time, if you don’t want to go there. Yeah, I had a miserable time in Honolulu. …sux to be me. I know.
