No real librarian would ask for an ISBN number. ISBN stands for “International Standard Book Number” so doesn’t need the second “number.” (That’s akin to people’s saying “ATM Machine” (which means “Automatic Teller Machine Machine.”)
I worked in the library for a high-tech company in Silicon Valley for many years. It was blessed with 2 MLS librarians and they were AWSOME. My job was maintaining the card catalog on a SUN SPARCstation and many technical tasks. Once I tried to shelve returned books and they told me to never do it again. It all seemed so straight-forward, but I was wrong ;-)

You should be able to find it in the “reference” section.

Most libraries would either have their Bibles in the “reference” section (yes, seen it happen) or the “theology” section, if not both.
