Obvious solution: Make the weekend be Saturday, Sunday, Monday. Obvious problem: How to keep people from hating Tuesdays.

The thing about 4 day work weeks is that they usually involve working 10 hour days. I’d rather work 8 hours 5 days a week than 10 hours 4 days a week.

My wife is WFH 4/10. She loves it. Her employer allows people to take any day, except Thursday “off”. Thursday is the staff meeting. Some people actually do Monday/Tuesday and Thursday/Friday.

I worked a dozen or more different shifts in my career. My favorite was three 12-hour shifts. I felt like I was semi-retired, until I was full-time retired…

I used to take a vacation day each Friday, for as long as I could before having to build them back up. I enjoyed that very much, and my boss also liked it, because he really didn’t want me gone for one or two weeks straight…

Fortunately I’m no longer faced with that dilemma.

In my old job I would frequently work seven day weeks. I could pretty much choose which day I hated the most.
