When I was growing up in the 1950s, we were always told to avoid drinking from the water fountain bubblers at school, or we could catch Impetigo. It wasn’t the water – - It was the spout that was dangerous if an infected child had recently put his or her mouth on the spout. Is Impetigo even a thing anymore?
My hometown had a bubbler that ran constantly from the Spring melt to the Fall freeze. Wasted about 99.999% of the water, but it was great in the Summer. It was at the intersection of the two streets that actually went somewhere and the only stop light in the town hung there.

There’s always something in the water, a lot of it not good
The question here is, what did THEY put in the water?
The other question is, who are THEY?

American capitalist fearmongering. There’s always someone who thinks by messing with your head they might be able to make a fast buck off you.
Putting tap water in a plastic bottle.
Coffee beans from cat shit? That’s rare, I’ll sell it for a stupid price.
Carbon crystal with nice optical characteristics? Name it diamond and cheat someone by calling it precious.

You can’t be too paranoid … especially these days.
