good attempt to make Schroeder feel guilty, Lucy

Vanity, thy name is Lucy’

Just as we were meant to sympathize with Wile E Coyote in the Warner Bros Roadrunner shorts and Tom the cat in the MGM Tom & Jerry cartoons, so, too, I feel that Schulz intended the reader to sympathize with Lucy in these Schroeder and Lucy episodes.

“My funny valentine. Sweet comic valentine

Give her a card with some poison ivy in it.

Give it up Lucy …

Schroeder’s first and only true love will be his piano.

Blame it on snail mail!

Shroder really does like to live dangerously. He forgets how his last piano ended up in the drain.

Classic. I use that line all the time.

“Rats” is an oversight

He did say IT! Why didn’t she react to the IT, meaning there could be a possibility that there was one… in her mind (and mine).

What does she expect after she flushed his piano down the sewer?

Shroeder one day is going to need a date for the symphony.

Schroeder must have the patience of a saint if he keeps tolerating Lucy for so long. He could just kick her out. That’s his house.

My mother told me the one I had picked out was too mean so I wasn’t allowed to send it.

I suppose “rats” is an old saying.

Lucy’s persistence in her quest for love is one of my favorite running gags in the entire strip.

Schroder better understands what the day really is and did not contribute to it.
