I read somewhere that it is a myth that no two snowflakes look alike. But since nobody can ever see every snowflake that falls, nobody can prove anything one way or another.
From yesterday’s comments to Happy, happy, happy!!! who said, “There is no feeling in the whole world like having a hummingbird land on your hand.”
I agree! I once held a hummingbird in my hand. One of my cats caught it and I got it away from the cat. I held it and inspected it for injuries. I could feel its heartbeat (so fast!). I wanted to hold it longer, because it felt so amazing to hold it, but I knew I had to let it go. It wasn’t hurt at all. I opened my hand and it flew off. They are such amazing little birds!
I do put out feeders for the hummingbirds, but only after seeing one in the yard. I don’t want to leave the sugar syrup out for weeks at a time if there are no hummers coming to feed. But I do grow flowers they like (like morning glories). So when they come to my flowers, I put out the feeders. I make my own sugar syrup for them. I usually only see them in late July or in August.
I would love a nice evening walk with Annie and Oliver. My late beautiful blind kitty Fiver was the only cat I’ve had who ever liked the snow. Heading up to Genoa tomorrow for 2 nights, the 4 hour drive will be gorgeous after all the snow last week.
How nice of Oliver to give the snowflakes names. Quite sweet. Not a big fan of snow (I find it quickly wears out its welcome), but hey, to each their own. On another note, saw five wrens and three chickadees while out walking today.

She’ll be there ’til breakfast. She should have taken Woof out for the walk.

To Ladycat – I’m so sorry to hear about Yum Yum’s passing. A terrible way to start the new year!

Insomnia. My Oliver came downstairs with me and is sleeping behind the laptop on my legs covered by a heated pet pad. Ahhhhh

Hi, Annie and Oliver!

Oliver is just too sweet. Is he making up those names??
We are due for another big snowstorm Wednesday through Friday. I have a few choice names for those snowflakes.

It’s lovely seeing happy cartoons where Annie is smiling, and Chesney’s grumping is absent.

My mom had names for snow. But, if I mention them here, I’d be banned for sure.
