You know what? Me too. The Skipper and Gilligan got caught off-guard by a freak accident, tried to minimize damage, and actually worked to help everyone after everything went pear-shaped.

Steering Americas ship off the the edge of the world is nothing to brag about!

I think that your rudder is jammed hard left. The rest of us would prefer a more moderate course of straight ahead without to much veering to the right or left.

The pack of “535” only steers money and influence in their pockets.

Or the Captain of the ‘Titanic’ ! ! ! !

The Titanic?

Actually my pet rock could do better.

The Ship of State is sailing in very precarious waters at the moment. There’s a mutiny brewing, led by a disgruntled ex-Captain, who – along with his mutineers and minions – would sink the ship, just to prove a point.

Congress is…. oh, wait, I can’t use that sort of language here…

I feel the same way about the white house. The skipper and Gilligan would do a much better job…and the actors who played them are no longer alive!

But Belfry is in the senate?

Unfortunately the rudder is controlled by a tug-of-war.

That’s for DAMN sure. We have a complete idiot at the helm now.

Anybody who knows that the rudder doesn’t have be locked either hard to port or hard to starboard would be preferable.

I’d go with the Professor

Would love to see congress get stranded on an uncharted isle. Nothing would get done, as usual, but we wouldn’t have to listen to them anymore. Assuming the uncharted isle has no internet.

Wow, there were two references to Gilligan’s Island in today’s comics. ‘Red And Rover’ was the other one. It’s truly remarkable that such an inane TV show that ran just three seasons a half century ago made such a lasting dent on popular culture.

“Red and Rover” also involves “Gilligan’s Island” today.

The Dems are trying to steer a moderate course but some Repubs are jerking the tiller hard to the right while their compatriots are trying to blow a hole in the hull. All the while 2 Democrats (?) have decided to be anchors.

With todays congress, that is a wise choice.
