Senator Belfry is a remarkably good caricature of the late Tip Oā€™Neal

You know what? Me too. The Skipper and Gilligan got caught off-guard by a freak accident, tried to minimize damage, and actually worked to help everyone after everything went pear-shaped.

I think that your rudder is jammed hard left. The rest of us would prefer a more moderate course of straight ahead without to much veering to the right or left.

The Ship of State is sailing in very precarious waters at the moment. Thereā€™s a mutiny brewing, led by a disgruntled ex-Captain, who ā€“ along with his mutineers and minions ā€“ would sink the ship, just to prove a point.

I feel the same way about the white house. The skipper and Gilligan would do a much better jobā€¦and the actors who played them are no longer alive!

Unfortunately the rudder is controlled by a tug-of-war.

Anybody who knows that the rudder doesnā€™t have be locked either hard to port or hard to starboard would be preferable.

Would love to see congress get stranded on an uncharted isle. Nothing would get done, as usual, but we wouldnā€™t have to listen to them anymore. Assuming the uncharted isle has no internet.

Wow, there were two references to Gilliganā€™s Island in todayā€™s comics. ā€˜Red And Roverā€™ was the other one. Itā€™s truly remarkable that such an inane TV show that ran just three seasons a half century ago made such a lasting dent on popular culture.

    ā€œRed and Roverā€ also involves ā€œGilliganā€™s Islandā€ today.

The Dems are trying to steer a moderate course but some Repubs are jerking the tiller hard to the right while their compatriots are trying to blow a hole in the hull. All the while 2 Democrats (?) have decided to be anchors.
