This reminds me of an episode of All In The Family. In previous episodes, Gloria was concerned that she and Mike, her husband, were drifting apart. In this episode, Gloria and Edith return from shopping. Gloria is wearing a new wig, and gets favorable feedback. Mike seems to have a renewed amorous interest in her. But, when they are getting ready to go to bed, Mike asks her to wear the wig. That causes Gloria to be upset, as she realizes that is isn’t Gloria that Mike is interested in, but the wig.
