I know people who never save leftovers. And not rich people, either. It amazes me. So many (usually saucy) things get better with a little aging. Chili. Soups. But even so, you’re going to toss away 1/2 of a roast chicken? That’s just wrong.
We’ve had raccoons in the City for a long time, but now coyotes are roaming our streets & parks, and mountain lions (pumas & cougars??) sighted on the outskirts too!! When the SPCA are able to capture them, they’re driven out of the area and released!!
Pickers can’t be choosers. That’s the problem today. When I was a fuzzball we had to go all the way to city dump. You youngsters don’t know when you’ve got it good. They separate it from the lawn clippings. And there’s carryout containers Right There!
Trash pandas are, unfortunately, as astute, civilized, erudite and socially responsible as a growing percentage of the great unwashed human population. Witness about a third of the items in any “news” cast. I’m despair for the future of my race.
Yeah, but the containers need to be clean, no garbage in them. And, of course, only a fraction of the plastics we as consumers “recycle” actually gets recycled. It’s one of the biggest lies put on us by the plastics manufacturers.

Plastics don’t go in the recycle bin if they’re contaminated with food.

Lets spread it all over the ground so they will have a chance to try again. They’ll probably thank us.

Do you not know that raccoons shall judge your garbage?

These raccoons are more aware, and conscientious, than many of the residents of my apartment building.
