A slick answer.

(I love the idea of Nancy just casually leaving banana peels around, no doubt explaining why they show up so much in comic strips).

While I don’t wish harm on anyone, it has been a lifelong dream of mine to witness a real life banana slip to see if it is as humorous as portrayed in the comics/movies.

Orange you glad I don’t have a joke comment for today’s strip?

Mythbusters debunked this old trope. They put hundreds of banana peels down in a pen, and they started trying to slide and fall, multiple ways and multiple tries. It simply doesn’t happen. The peels just smash into goo underneath the person’s weight. Apparently the resulting goo is too thick to be slippery.

Once again lateral thinking wins the day.

In Nancy- The Musical, Aunt Fritzi, upon seeing how Nancy “fixed” the situation, belts out the following ditty,

“Let me hear you say,

The overwhelming smell… blerrch!

If they don’t have ants, they will soon — at least.

I’ve been absent from this strip for some time and I must say the artwork is not what I remember.

Usually, you trip over them not sliding

Twenty-one peels would have been too many. Nineteen wouldn’t’ve been enough.

Nancy’s actions are highly irregular. And after that many bananas, Nancy is, too.
