Alices’voice will get trapped in one of the layers at altitude and never heard again. (Just watched my clock change from 1:59:59 straight to 3:00:00 !)
This has always been one of my favorite Cul de Sac cartoons. I love Ms. Otterloop—a character mostly in the background but with the best deadpan lines.
It sort of seems that’s what you’re hearing when you’re near a school playground. Listen to the shouting at recess, and you’ll observe that the loudest voices hit the very same pitch every day, and keep it going without pause for the whole of recess…almost as if you’re hearing yesterday’s shouts again, and maybe those of generations past.

Yeah, when they open their mouths and scream around the globe like that, they’re almost twins!

Madeline is so smart in how she deals with the “well-known facts” of four-year-olds!
