When I enlisted they gave me a test with a title something like “Suitability for Army Service”. It included questions such as “Have you ever fired a rifle?” and “Have you ever spent a night sleeping in a tent?”, and it was obvious which answers the Army preferred.
But one question was “Do you know how to pour a beer without making a head?”. I’ve never been sure which answer the Army wanted.

Reminds me of how Dennis Day described his recruitment tests for the Navy, on the Jack Benny show. He took a series of tests for three days, at the end of which, they made him an Ensign.
My late father-in-law, a minister, enlisted in the Army and served for 22 years. Supposedly he got tired of hearing theological debates in civilian life.

Assigning that trooper to the foreign legion. He has extraordinary cause to enlist.

The books on the shelf have changed (number and size).
The recruiter has changed too. (Did he consume one of the books?)

Wow, there is a string of poor life choices headed for a cliff. Got married and joined the Army, in that order. …sad.

Oddly more men want to remarry after losing a spouse than women do.

2nd panel: empty bottom shelf. 3rd panel: books on bottom shelf. How is that possible?

Guess that Wizard has never been the only one in the kingdom of Id with a nagging wife.
