Nobody knows the truffles I’ve seen…

why else are hogs used for truffle finding?

Snoopy is so cute in this arc, yesterday and today especially. Love it when he says, “How gauche!”

So Linus, what will you pay Snoopy?

That’s because pigs are, uh, well… pigs.

“I don’t care if they’re young or old. Just make them edible. I just want some food I can hold on to. I want truffles.”

Truffles aren’t to be trifled wilth.

Truffles bring a new level of taste to any dish, therefore Snoopy, you better save some to put in your food that the Round Headed kid brings to you as it shall open up a vast sensation to your taste buds.

As a gauchiste, I find that offensive.

What do you expect Snoopy? They’re pigs.

Pigs are well-known for (gaucheness? gauchity? gauchification?) being gross.

I think the first time I ever heard the word gauche it was from this strip.

And yet, dogs will eat anything that falls on the floor.

what about badgers? I remember one named Trufflehunter quite fondly.

“Pretentious? Moi?”

I don’t know…how gauche it with you?

If a pig ran across a dog while truffle hunting, the dog would be gobbled up, too.

Besides pigs trying to eat the truffles they find, I read that dogs are used because truffle hunting is so competitive, if you have a pig in your car, people will follow you to get the truffles. Nobody notices if you have a dog in your car.

I gather Snoopy doesn’t like truffles.

Of course Snoopy looks down on pigs. In another strip where someone stated that pigs were smarter than dogs, Snoopy retorted, ‘If they’re so smart, then why are they pigs?’

Used to? Even in ’75 I believe they still used pigs to hunt truffles.
