We don’t need to know. My private life is nobody else’s business, and I’m really not interested in theirs. My bedroom curtains have really neat silk screened parrots on them!
I am not gay. Therefore I have the right to look down upon, condemn and feel superior to those who are. It is not MY sin, so I get to cast the first stone.
I have sins of my own, but they’re popular sins, everybody does them, so they don’t count.
Aunty I once told my wife I didn’t like the kitchen curtains she put up. She took them down and said suit yourself. I had to buy and put up 5 pairs before she agreed to one set. I’ve never commented on curtains, drapes or blinds, sheets, blankets, comforters again – since 1990 except to say – lovely dear. lovely…
I judge people by how they treat animals. It’s the best way to tell, because people who are unkind to animals pretty much are unkind to people as well.
In Texas, if Governor Abbott had his way, he’d probably want to go back to the time that being gay was considered an actual crime. A few years ago, he wanted to refuse social services to anybody in the LBGTQ community. That never got off the ground, but it was appalling just to hear him say it. As MLK said so well, it’s the content of one’s character—not their race, religion or sexual orientation—that really matters. Bottom line, if you’re gay and a nice person, I’ll like you. If you’re gay and a mean person, I won’t want to have anything to do with you. Same goes for anybody else.
A long time ago, I worked part-time in a branch library. While at the front desk, I noticed a woman in line looking very upset. When she got to the front of the line, she told me that her married son had just come out as gay, and she wanted to find some books she could read that would help her to understand gay people. She said she wanted some reassurance that it wasn’t anything she had done. My eventual goal was to be a counselor, so I had already read some literature about gays, and it was pretty well established that they’re born that way. I told her that, and then proceeded to help her find some books on the subject. I often think about her, and hope that she accepted her son for who he was, and that she didn’t do anything that made him choose his sexual orientation, because it’s not a choice. Oh, and long ago, the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual, the Bible for healthcare professionals, listed homosexuality as a mental illness!
We sure can, provided those of other minorities OR MAJORITIES don’t try to stuff their personally held beliefs down other people’s throats or try to change history because what actually happened doesn’t suit them.

Certain curtain choices could be cause for concern.

Or blinds, for that matter, Aunty.

Oh, if that were only the case. But some people seem to have an unholy need to make others look more evil than they are.

Ironically, I’ve met more gay people through my church than anywhere else. Our church accepts them. Most other churches here in redneck country don’t.
Our church runs on Girl Power (80% of the volunteers are women), Gray Power (most of the volunteers are over 65) and Gay Power (see above.)

Sigh, but what if you’re in a rental and only have horrid blinds? I don’t wanna be judged on those.

Usually, nobody gets any public attention for their draperies.

Still a sin to judge a person. On any matter. But Jesus can forgive you – before it’s too late.

Not if you’re a conservative Republican who wants to force you to live your life under their ungodlike laws.
