He could go jousting with his nose.

Could some knot on the end of his nose.

I don’t get this one.

If he had stayed out of politics, this would not be a problem.

Pinnochio’s nose may or may not be a good back scratcher.

I suppose that, until the back scratcher arrives, he could rub his nose on telephone poles.

Looks to me like he’s in need of therapy about lying….

makes no sense

I think: He can’t reach the end of his nose, so he can’t scratch it; thus, he is ordering a back scratcher to scratch the end of his nose.
