Sunday school teacher, rabbi, imam, any religious leader when it comes to the secondary influencer. But if you’re irreligious, who would it be? Just a regular teacher from primary school, secondary school, or university?

Nobody actually thinks influencers are influential, you know!

I was moved when a Sunday school student from long ago took a photo of us together, to show his congregation.

Thanks to the people that took an interest in us and saw us not necessarily as we were, but what we could be.

More influenced by an aunt and uncle—he was a police officer and she was a bookkeeper for a farm equipment dealer BUT……..they had a happier home life than my Mother and Father.

One of my earliest memories of Sunday school was a teacher making me leave the class after I quoted the Bible verses that proved her opinion was wrong.

I’m like that Geico commercial – I’ve turned into my parents because of their influence on me.

Grandma S. often told us kids to “Be Good.” Sometimes she said it when we were misbehaving. But, more often she was telling us to do our best, and to treat others well. Simple words that carried a lot of meaning and continues to influence my life.

Too many wonderful influencers in my life to name them all. The jerks do not outnumber the good guys.

My influencers were a millwright uncle missing fingers, and a drag racer who lived across the street. Also a friend of Grandpa who owned dump trucks. Parents kept me on the straight and narrow and out of jail. Mostly.

my Sunday school teacher was a racist POS and my neighbor who was a County sheriff had a KKK robe. That’s why my dad moved us to another state.

Having attended Catholic school for 4 years, and occasionally (when I couldn’t escape) catechism classes in summer, I didn’t actually have (or need) a Sunday school teacher. Though I got a good education from the parochial school, the draconian social and other life teachings left me cold even as young as 12 or 13. By then I was in public high school, and managed to avoid any further teachings (let alone influence!) other than Mass every Sunday. (Others’ experiences may differ, of course). I’m happy to say that my parents were great influencers, other than their religious peculiarities, lol.
