My wife used to do that. Then we got together. The alarm would go off at 3:00am and 3:10 and 3:20. That lasted 1 day. Set the alarm for 3:20 or get up at 3:00. There is a spare room if you are not happy with those choices. She opened a restaurant and I work from home.
Never needed an alarm clock. No matter what time I had to get up. Never late. Early. Been retired 22 years and still no clock around. Like to beat the sun and birds up.
We all have those days when it’s harder to get up than most other days. However, few of us have the physical proof of that conflict. While it was a monumental battle, you did make it to work and that’s what counts for now. There will be better days ahead when you will have little need for the alarm component of your clock …
I had chronic insomnia when working. I actually fell asleep about 4a. I had to get up for work at 6a. I am very familiar with the use of a snooze button, but I was never late for work. I was just tired all the time. All day, all night.

It is said that man is the only creature that goes to sleep when not tired, and who gets up when he is tired.

You need to set the alarm on the other side of the room.

When you retire, you will forget about your alarm clock. But you will wake up anyway early in the morning. This is what happen to me

Up at 5 every day without an alarm clock. Drives my wife, dog and cat crazy.

I almost always wake up 5 minuets before the alarm goes off. Don’t know if that’s good or not but I just get up and GO!

Although retired I still get up early. However, getting going is another story.
