after the NYC black out , the birth rate skyrocketed

Back in the days of two bedrooms and a path.

Did I just see that on youtube lately?

It was gasoline rationing during WW2 and my parents had used up their ration card so having no place to go and nothing to do…….here I am.

We are all slowly turning into Borgs.

We read books, magazines, and the paper. Crossword puzzles were big then.

We read books, like the Bible, mags, news papers, and did crossword puzzles.

Most of the time(if I remember correctly), people sat around and conversed —-may have been gossip but they were at least TALKING to one another rather than wearing out the muscles in their hands and fingers ! ! ! !!

before iphones were invented we watched tv…

There was “Thumb-twiddling and nose-picking.”

I don’t have an iPhone, don’t want one. I have a desk top PC, read the comics and e-mail then off about my day unencumbered by a phone.

In January, 1947 there was a massive snowstorm in Milwaukee. The city was essentially shut down for a couple of weeks. I was born in October…in a hospital so crowded with women giving birth that they had maternity beds in the hallways.

’Nough said

If I was bored. I’d go out to a nice place along a small stream. With a couple of cold bottles and a fishing rod, (with the fishing gear). Find a nice place with plenty of shade and relax and try and get some catfish for dinner. All the while listening to the music of nature in the breeze rustling through the leaves.

Back when there were twelve brothers and sisters you had playmates, and I don’t mean the Playboy kind.

We were working so hard we didn’t have time to be bored

After he and his siblings left, his parents had empty nest syndrome

Well, as kids we created disorder and chaos, in the real world.

Actually used their own minds for constructive thought… a totally lost art.
