That happens with old dogs like mine. Hope Rover is forever young.

Dad said something about letting sleeping dogs lie.

My Rugby would never sleep through a meal . He keeps time like a Swiss railroad.

You should’ve woken him up, Red.

Rover would never be too sleepy to eat his supper!

Two of our dogs wake up early and get breakfast, the third gets up when my wife does (about another two hours) and eats then.

Brian excels at giving Rover great expressions—love the look on his face in the last panel!

It’s very, very rare to see Rover angry. That last panel, though.

There’s little to no chance that our dog (or cats) sleeps through dinnertime. When the clock hits 5pm they are ready to eat, whether we like it or not.

I love the last scene where Rover’s left eyeball slightly pops up. Poor baby. I’m afraid our pets are sometimes victims of our whims!

My late loving wife and I had a Catahoula Leopard dog that was deaf, he would always wake up and check his bowl. Yes sometimes he would be asleep when I fed him and he seemed to enjoy the surprise meals.

Our pack never goes hungry for very long. I get up early to feed everyone as the second part of my morning chores after fixing coffee for the Mrs. and tea for me. Earl Grey. Hot.

Better be careful Red, trust is a difficult thing to get back once it is lost.
