From Wiseguy: Vinnie Terranova is working underground at Milford High School to bust the gambling operation. I can hear him speaking to Frank McPike: “Frank, Mike Knape got expelled last year for buttering his bagel. This Pranit Smith kid is running an illegal gambling operation and tries to bring in an enforcer to collect the debts. What happens? Dr Pearl let’s him off with a 5 day suspension, Thorp lets him stay on the team, and Smith’s brother enabled him!”
P4 As Pran…errrr….Jami awakens to the unmistakable smell of ocean air, an aroma he will never forget inside a dark, humid cargo hold of a ship enroute to Souteast Asia, he suddenly realizes he has been shanghaied by his supposed friends and teammates at the behest of his evil father, Gil Thorp, who was informed of Jami’s plot for revenge on his parents and uses the situation to rid Milford of his competing gambling syndicate and making a gesture of goodwill to Vito from Goshen, ensuring Milford remains his exclusive territory
Except for the part about not being allowed back in school unless they paid it, it was a heck of a good threat. “I’ve kept quiet to protect your sorry a**, but if you don’t give me the money I’ve had to pay to cover your losses I’ll be telling your parents and the school who still owes me.”
Let’s be consistent, please. If a butter knife for bagels is enough to get you expelled from Milford, I expect these two to at least be suspended for bullying and violent behavior.
I sure hope the baseball “tease” panels tomorrow do not have Pranit as a previously undiscovered fireball pitcher who puts illegal substances on the ball.
Yeah, okay. “The school said I can come back once I list every person that owes me money.” Does that make any lick of sense that someone would believe? All he had to do was say, “I am going to tell the school you placed bets through me, unless you pay me back right now.”
And while I appreciate the farcical P3 (although how they grabbed his legs and flipped him up in the air so easily is a bit bizarre), that kind of final panel is what normally you see at the very end of a plot. But we still have to wrap up the girls’ story. WAIT. This means the girls’ story is already wrapped up? THAT WAS THE ENDING? So help me, if tomorrow is a change of scenery introducing the new baseball/softball protagonist, I’ll scream.
And speaking of screaming, I scream, you scream, we all scream for Mopped Up Thorp – https://moppedupthorp.wordpress.com/

A rare 4 panel strip. Shadow people, giant hand drawings, nostril shots, a close-up and alien possession. We have it all today
