General trends in weather such as climate change due to greenhouse gases can be modeled.

It’s local weather, like will it rain in my back yard three months from now that depends on too many influences that it can’t be predicted with meaningful accuracy more than a week in advance.

Of course it is getting warmer, a little bit at a time, ever since the last ice age, humans just are not helping slow the process.

Weather person is the only job where you can be wrong 90% of the time and still keep your job.

There ought to be a pond in the pasture so Rory can go soak his head.

Long term trends are easier to predict, you can look at the past, look at conditions and see causes and results. Short term events that depend on multiple random events are less precise but still predicted with a remarkable degree of accuracy, if not precision. The problem is most people do not understand math and science: Weather forecasts are accurate, that is why they give you a chance of rain, say 50%, but not very precise, again the 50%. The problem is you want precision and get mad because you are getting accuracy.

Weather is very unpredictable today …..they do their best….just look at the forecast in the morning and be done with it! Growing up you could almost count on summer, fall, winter ,spring, but now it’s all over the place….

I’m disappointed in you Rory. I thought you were smarter than some of our US politicians.

We haven’t found a solution for climate change yet, but……we’re definitely getting warmer.

Hollywood is really taking climate change seriously, Vin Diesel even changed his name to Vin Solar

Sigh. Climate is long term and weather is short term. Climate affects weather patterns. They are not the same thing.

Oh, look the cartoonist is pining about the climate crisis again. Maybe talk to a climate scientist and they can explain to you that weather and climate are different things. But, oh, wait, you won’t because you’ve decided you know it’s all a scam. Carry on.

Why can you tell me the New England Patriots would beat the Jacksonville Jaguars, but can’t give me the exact score?

It really IS that simple. They don’t have a clue and spend a huge amount of resources to convince themselves (and us) otherwise.
