Man, I’m not generally impressed by the insights into the human condition served up by Pluggers, but you have to admit that “At first you’re horny, but eventually you’re just cheap” has a certain bracing veracity.
As kids we were always reminded to turn off the lights, unless we were returning to the room in a short time. With the exception of the kitchen light, which is almost always on, I still follow that guidance.
I don’t do that, but my father did. I’d hear him tromping through the house flicking switches and muttering. ’course, back then incandescent lamps were so much more wasteful of energy.
We actually have several lights in the house which, in normal – non-pandemic times, go on and off on timers so it always looks like we are home whether we out for day, on a trip or actually home. After a week of staying home due to Covid – we shut the timers off and just turn the lights and off.

The only time I leave one specific light on is when I’m out of the apartment for the day and I won’t be back until after dark.

Normally I can dodge Plugger status, but welp.
Other people turn ’em on, I turn ’em off.

Heat pump, electric stove and clothes dryer – lighting is down in the noise.

Lights, un-watched TV, un-monitored computer, etc. and I only have a wife living in the house.

When I changed my lamps to LED’S my power bills went down dramatically.

The incandescent lights in the church drew so much power that it took a relay contactor to turn them on. They now draw 1/10th of the power.

Fallbrook! I’ve been there, lovely little town. The high school teams are called the Warriors. Don’t know if they’ve changed mascots ;)
