This all made me remember the old days when I’d go to the library to perform research. That was the way it was during the pre-PC and internet days. (I didn’t get a PC till the internet was available.) Now, we just pull out our smartphones and google away. Back then, it was quite pleasant to wile away half a day pushing through the books in the stacks and getting help from the reference desk. The hardest thing was finding a parking place. Now, I seldom even go to a library except to pick up a book or dvd I’d put on hold using their website.
sometimes it takes a brick to the head just to get the message through to them and sometimes that’s still not enough… these two might be a lost cause, but what do I know.
Conspiracy theorists have always been around, even in 1975. But in those days they were on the fringe, and envisioned as wearing tin-foil hats (to block mind-controlling radiation). I’m sure that Schultz, like most of us at the time, would have been shocked to know that conspiracy theories (and fellow travelers, anti-rationality and anti-science) would be fully embraced by half the population and a major news outlet less than 50 years later.
If Snoopy could talk, he’d probably have a podcast on Spotify and be a complete moron who convinces his gullible audience to take untested, unverified alternative treatments to vaccines while also spreading transphobic rhetoric and routinely platforming conservative scumbags. Good thing we don’t have to worry about that in real life.
This is from 1975 and the cover-ups of Watergate were still fresh in everyone’s minds. It strikes me as still being funny; why WOULD they cover up something like that?
Lucy, doing research? She is a better student than Sally (but then, except for Peppermint Patty, everyone’s a better student than Sally), but she’s not really a researcher.

If this came out at the time that I think it did, it wasn’t the only cover-up going on at the time, Snoopy!

Keep an eye out for damselflies Snoopy. You don’t want to know what they might do to you.

Dragonflies are related to dragons. Dragons are reptiles. The government is run by reptilians. That’s why they’re covering it up.

Snoopy is now a conspiracy theorist.

If she actually (doubtful) researched all medical history, I feel sorry for Lucy. There’s some gruesome stuff in there.

Back in 1975, this was funny. Fifty years later, it’s not funny anymore.

More apropos for our times than Sparky may have imagined. So the mindset was there before social media.

In 1975, that gag was good for a quick chuckle. Today, it would start a Twitter thread 20 miles long.
