Kim is evil for not only taking down Nate’s chances of being asked out by Marcie, but also by threatening her violently if she does ask Nate out. First, Kim forces Nate into her Love Tree, and now this?

6/10 Could have been a 7, but Chad’s appearance made me deduct a point.

I hate you Kim.

oh okay, no no this is too far. Kim is already one of the worst stains in this series, but NOW she’s threatening other girls?? It’s not enough she has to harrass nate 10 times every year, but now she’s being a menace to other people as well when she never did this to other girls with Nate before. She just gets worse and worse every time she appears and yet LP kept reusing her as if she’s one of the best character. Who even asked for her? NO ONE wants more Kim, and I wish she gets nuked to the moon already

This is probably the worst Sunday comic I’ve ever seen. I can’t stand Kim, and the fact that we rarely get a sequel to a Sunday comic, unless this becomes an arc, which it probably won’t, Nate won’t be able to go to Marcie and tell her it’s all a mistake. -12/10

Y’know, if the gender roles were changed, this wouldn’t even be considered a funny storyline.

Okay, I have to admit, I think the way this series as a whole portrays Nate’s failure with romance as comedy is not really done well and is just either sad or annoying. The way Nate feels every time a girl rejects whether he’s annoyed or sad or angry doesn’t really work because it’s being done in a way that ends up making the readers connect with him on an emotional scale that we end up feeling sorry for him and wish that he would find someone that likes him for who he is. In other words since we’re supposed to find Nate sucking at romance funny, this is clearly not working. If we want to find this stuff hilarious instead of sad or depressing, then the idea would be to have Nate not mope or get sad or offended every time a girl doesn’t return his feelings.

Take Johnny Bravo for example. His entire character revolves around him getting rejected by women. And the reason why audiences find that funny instead of feeling sorry for him is because Johnny always shakes it off and doesn’t let the rejections bother him. He is either humorously delusional, or he just simply accepts it and goes off to find another girl without letting sadness or anger from the rejection slow him down. That allows the audience to find entertainment is Johnny’s loser ways with romance instead of getting depressed over it.

So, yeah. I hate to say this, but this series’ comedic portrayal of Nate being a loser when it comes to finding love doesn’t really work.

nate could still go up to her and say, “i heard what kimmy told you but it isn’t true”.
