This happened to my Dad and I’m sure to a lot of others who speak more than one language. Back in the early 1950’s in Los Angeles, Dad was taking the bus to work and sat in front of two “older” women who were chatting away in Spanish talking about things that would never be mentioned in public around men. Dad grew up in Puerto Rico and Spanish was the first language he learned. When his stop came up, he stood up, turned around and thanked the ladies for a very entertaining ride and got off the bus.
In Frank’s defense here, I often do the same thing without really trying. I have very good hearing, try to be observant of my surroundings, and am often alone without other distractions, so I find myself listening to other people’s conversations without really doing it on purpose. And yes sometimes they can be quite interesting. :)

Some people’s major entertainment, is eavesdropping on other people conversations.

Are they hearing what Frank is saying and wondering why he’s paying attention to their conversation?
Ellis97 almost 3 years ago
No, not really. He’s just minding his own business.

That would be funnier if he was overhearing a phone conversation. Why do people talk so loud on their phones in public??

Thank goodness. I was thinking, wait, MORE characters in this strip I can’t keep track of?

This strip seems like deja vu all over again…. Is this a repeat, or is it just me?
