Pragmatist: Start with a full glass, and empty it. You don’t even need a scarf to do it.

Realist: the glass is always full unless it is in a vacuum. The question is: how much of it is air and how much is water.

You can lead a horse to water (I am assuming it is water), but it will only drink as an artist. Otherwise it is just a philosophising horse.

Physicist: the glass is completely full, half with water and half with air.

Good one. I’m tongue-tied.

Engineer: the glass is twice as large as it should be.

Next Horace paints his masterpiece “Hydrating Horse” which sells for $4 million…!

Scientist – The glass is always completely full. There are just two fluids of different densities. The lighter atmospheric gasses float on top of the denser water.

Artist: starving . . . and thirsty.

Realist: the glass is too small.

Cock-eyed optimist: “The glass is completely full.”

The first time any teacher presented the half full or half empty question, I asked, “Is the glass being filled, or am I drinking from the glass.” Only depending on that knowledge could I answer the question. I was not a normal child.

Drink it and get a refill.

Or as we say in Britain, a “P*ss Artist”.

The difference between an optimist ans a pessimist is that an optimist believes we live in the best of all possible worlds, the pessimist fears this is true…
