First I ever noticed SCOTUS appointments was round about when Bork was up. For ages, Presidents didnāt dare appoint extremists, and Congress more or less rubber stamped appointments, as everybody agreed that these were nonpartisan āFor the Good of the Nationā acts.
Reagan, in his senile wisdom, broke the mold, even though the Senate sent Bork and his ātheoriesā packing. The stage was set for partisan appointments, and the politicization of the law.
Last year my wife was railing about Clarence Thomas, and I told her āIf you think heās bad, you should see his wife!ā And at the time all she could drum up was sympathy for the poor woman who had to be married to him. Now she knows better.
The slap and the joke. Unfortunately, the slap took away what attention should have gone to the joke. Chris Rock did a documentary on black women and their hair. He interviewed a lady with Alopecia. Itās not even so much about that as about what she told him. That hair is very important to black women and their self esteem is wrapped in it. His daughters were even in it! Then, he tells this joke? If he never did the documentary, I wouldnāt be questioning it as much. I just donāt get it? If he did a documentary on women and body issues, then told a fat joke about a woman in the audience, would that be okay then? They BOTH screwed up and took away from the important parts.

The other thing about the Oscars slap is that medical bills are still the #1 cause of bankruptcy in the US.

She wants to even the score, since he ALREADY overthrew a duly elected president.
