Actions speak louder than words so Mrs Dear is pleased by the look on Fred’s face and the fact that he didn’t leave anything. It’s very rare for him to leave anything.

I’d say that awful is a relative term in a dog’s brain. There’s his favorite meal, and then there’s—everything else!! He’ll be fine!
