It’s not just the laundry, either. It’s that she’s busy, in general, NOT doing anything for herself/fun/relaxing, while he’s simply lying on the couch, reading a book, yet asks her to go get something for him. XP No offer to help or anything, no realizing she’s doing chores while he’s just relaxing, and then topping it off with cluelessly wondering why she might be a tad upset.
Been there, and can completely empathize with Wanda here XP
Honestly, I can relate to both of them here. I get why Wanda’s annoyed, and she’s got a right to be, but I also relate to Darryl a little. My brain is not always the best at reading social cues.
It’s not even just the laundry… it’s the fact she’s up on her feet, doing chores, while he has his feet up, relaxing and reading a book, but he wants her to get it for him while she’s already doing other tasks XP
We can see why Wanda is mad this time, but in Darryl’s defense, Wanda will get mad over the slightest thing, even things he’s supposedly done in her dreams, so there are times when it’s hard for Darryl to discern exactly what she is mad about. “Well, if you don’t know, I’m certainly not going to tell you.”
Sherlock Holmes, who was not a big fan of women, with rare exceptions, once observed “…the motives of women are inscrutable. …Their most trivial action may mean volumes, or their most extraordinary conduct may depend upon a hairpin or a curling tongs.” — “The Adventure of the Second Stain.”
I think Darryl feels that way about Wanda sometimes.

Actually, the term “clueless” is inaccurate. There are all sorts of clues, he just doesn’t recognizes them.
