We used to hold a banquet for all the library volunteers where the library employees (people so poorly paid we are practically volunteers ourselves) would make all the food, and the library board (some of the wealthiest people in town) would always show up uninvited to take advantage of the free buffet. Sigh.
The fast food chain I once worked for shot a TV commercial at OUR restaurant because they liked how clean I kept the dining room. But then, a few years later they fired me for wasting time cleaning the dining room.
Nothing like a little bout of food poisoning to keep upper management off of your backs for a few weeks – and hopefully out of your store for a few years.
