Here in England, we are celebrating Saint George’s Day. Saint George is Patron Saint of England and he is Patron Saint of several other countries including Ethiopia and Palestine.

Saint George was certainly Middle Eastern as his place of birth was probably in Turkey but possibly in Libya. He is one of the two Middle Eastern saints on our Union Jack. The other is Saint Andrew who was one of Jesus’s disciples and is Patron Saint of several countries including Scotland and Russia.

He has money….. ???

Billy probably could use a friend at a time like this, Andy could offer to help get the money out..

I divide my currency by denominations into several pockets: $1s and folded $5s in right front, $10s and folded $20s in the left. In my younger days it seemed unwise to publicly flash cash to count it, but in a crowded bar I could reach into the various pant’s compartments to know my night’s finances.

Maybe Andy could help poor Billy.

Nobody’s commented on it yet, but today’s drawing of the strip by the new, and unnamed cartoonist is worthy of the Master. The attention to the background drawing makes it much more interesting than the usual G&G pathetic paste-ups.
