I have all of those experiences without all of the hassle of getting to the destination, losing luggage, etc. Television has more than violence, sex and inane stories, the travel and adventure programs are great. I ‘walked’ Hadrian’s Wall, visited the private rooms of Windsor Castle, underwater explored caves, etc.
I’ve been fortunate enough to have led such an interesting life that I’ve never had to lie about it (not even on the Internet). Flown a jet fighter upside down from the back seat, helped build a multi-million dollar free electron laser, reverse engineered a Laser Tag installation, wrote software for a project to turn sawdust into oil, performed a comedy belly dance on stage, wrote and produced several radio plays, married an amazing woman 24 years older, walked daily in the redwoods with two curious cats, worked more than ten Renaissance Faires, starved for a week in the Rockies …
The late Bill Hicks, on stunt doubles in action films: "Do you want your grandmother dying like a little bird in some hospital room, her translucent skin so thin you can see her last heartbeat working its way down her blue veins?
