This is true. All great athletes are extraordinarily competitive. In order to play and compete at the highest levels of any sport, they have to be so.

The competitiveness isn’t the issue here, folks. Keep your eyes on the target, not the decoy.

The target is that $8/week is nothing, and double nothing is still… nothing.

Apply that logic, and where would it end?

Employees being paid enough that they didn’t have to work 2, or even 3 jobs?

‘…very competitive’ is hardly defamation.

I doubt Michael Jordan thought overly long about how NIke shoes were produced. He’s was very apolitical. He once (to paraphrase) basically said everyone buys shoes and he wasn’t taking a stance on issues so as to not alienate potential buyers.

One might almost imagine that Mike’s OK with this.

Ouch. As if what Nike and every other US capitalist business does with slave labor is a Black athlete’s fault.

Does Michael Jordon know the wages Nike pays their workers when he agrees to represent them? Maybe he lost his integrity along the way to fame.
