Whenever I need to check any business site, I use the Tor browser. Once in a while, a business will not permit Tor, and I have to use my regular Brave browser.
Whenever I use Brave with a business site, I then delete all session cookies by using the “Howdy Stranger” browser extension. That enables me to return to the site as a first-time visitor.

I have a simple premise. I go to the brick and mortar store. If it is there, I purchase it. If there are none in stock, I go elsewhere. No pressure. You want pressure, come with me car shopping. Salespeople quiver in fear when they see me coming.
I am looking for a specific model lawn tractor. Home Depot lists anywhere from 3 to 6 available at three different stores around me. After driving up to an hour away – there are NO lawn tractors at any of the stores. Lesson: Don’t believe the “Three remaining in stock” lies from the websites.
When we need something we look to see which Walmart, etc has it in stock. Husband always falls for “3 in stock” “1 in stock” and when we get to the store there are none. I keep pointing out to him that they could be “in the back” or someone just bought “the one” or they are all broken and ready to be shipped back to main office.
I tell him if there are only a few – buy them online for pickup and it should be there when we get there.

I’m clueless. Never got into it. I remember a son-in-law asking to use my computer to check his e-bay bid.

I do the same thing as Arlo. If the listing gets pushy, I delete it and move on.

If you flash a pop up to tell me, “John from Altoona just bought….” I close the damn site.
