Their entire history of military activity going back to the middle ages consists of trying to fend off aggressors, most of whom started off in Mongolia. Which is why they still like to claim at least spiritual descent from the kazaki.
What Ted gets wrong here, is that this had everything to do with Ukraine seeking EU membership. Russia is a bad partner, that spreads corruption & exploitation. Former Soviet Bloc territories that aligned with the West have done far better. Small wonder Ukrainians wanted better partners.
Thriving democracies on Russia’s borders are a direct threat to Putin’s regime. Thriving democracies anywhere are an indirect threat. No one wants to cross the border into Russia, so Russia needs to move it’s borders over people.
“Dissent is stifled, parties are effectively banned, and the media doesn’t include government opponents…” Seems like Teddy can’t see the difference between getting silenced by the government and getting silenced because few people agree. The other panels at least make some sense, but this statement screams toddler in a sandbox alone crying to his parents after he threw sand in all the other kids faces and now no one wants to play with him.
How can we get someone with sufficient power to take seriously the thesis that Alito is either mad or bad and needs to be retired or locked up?
Alito cited to a 17th century loonie who had 2 women killed for practicing witchcraft, and he claims that the Constitution says the exact opposite of what in fact it says about unenumerated rights, which is that all such rights accrue to us by default.
That means there is something very wrong with him, so wrong that he should be removed from the bench and retired for medical reasons (senile dementia, other psychosis, or psychopathy).
Clearly his peers don’t know enough to understand how badly off he is, but any psychologist or psychiatrist, briefed about the law, would recognise that he —and we if he stays on the bench— is coming apart in a very toxic way.
He must be removed from the bench permanently. How do we get it done?

It’s a nice flip. It reminds me of a Conrad cartoon where Khomeini says about the god that Reagan’s an old man, we just have to wait for a new regime.

Guys, Ukraina has no history of aggressive war.

Sorry, but all too true; they’ve re-branded under the cover of the the former Republican party. Try to imagine Lincoln being elected as a republican.

I knew what was coming, but I still cackled. Right on target as usual.

G’head, ‘discuss’ amongst yourselves. But the point that’s been made – and needs no defining – is that the US is toxic – to itself most of all!

That’s because Orange Peel isn’t President. He’d be sending Putin weapons.

Predictability is the greatest sin…and the punch line in this one was predictable from panel one.
