A great ichthyologist once said (really) at a congress, “The origin of lungfish, as well as of all other fish I know, is firmly based on nothing. We’ll achieve nothing by jumping up and down while yelling, ‘Darwin is god, and me, so-an-so, am his prophet!’”
I do have to remind myself from time to time that, even as of today, we are NOT at the end of the evolutionary process. Sometimes do wonder how things will evolve into the future….
OK, so he’s already got the hang of advanced tech, he’s developed the ability to get to new places the others can’t (slick, high rock instead of a mud flat) without fundamentally changing much about himself, he’s looking up ways to expedite the process, he’s being quietly resented for his minor criticism by the others, and yet, the implication is that he’s somehow in the wrong.
Recorded as the original source of the declaration “Okay, boomer!”, this first of its kind consequently ensured aggravation from other generations for ages to come.
I’m sure some British narrator could do a better job telling this documentary.
Says the slug not doing anything. We used to call them shit birds and slackers. Back in the good ol’ days. Time that was B.C. (Before Cellular) and not PC.
Except for Eric Von Daniken’s alien presence theory, I wonder if ancient civilizations might have been more advanced than we are today. There may have indeed been an Atlantis like civilization that could do amazing things and possibly make pyramid building and hanging gardens easy.
The typical situation. One sits and complains, while the other does. Observers have little sweat in the game and, thus, little to lose. The doers labor and learn by their failures. Improvements occur.
Lots of great comments here, but did anyone notice that the real gist of the panel is that the lungfish crawling on shore are the ones advancing while the “millennial” is the one sitting on his tail fin, being left behind?
I guess now that so many Boomers are dying off, the media has to pick on some other generation, and it looks like Millennials are getting the brunt of it.

You can only get a mutation every generation. To speed up evolution you need to reproduce faster. Go to it !!

We could do much better if we would quit destroying our environment to the point that we can no longer exist for the sake of monetary gain.

If the baseball cap wearing fish had any insight to the future, trying to slow things down would be more appropriate.
