You call my wife Babe and it better be because she has a supporting role as the blue ox in our community theater production of The Life and Times of Paul Bunyan.
My second wife was considerably older than I. I called her “babe”; she called me “dear”. It was a generational thing. To her being called “babe” made her think of Lauren Becall. I never, ever told her this: it always made me think of Paul Bunyan’s “Babe the Blue Ox”. Don’t get me wrong, she was a beautiful woman in her 60s, but stubborn as an ox. :)
I really dislike it when people, including mothers and teachers, say “I need you to…” . It implies, “I have the power to command you, but you will do it out of concern for my so-called needs.”

Took Mike long enough to draw the line.

Actually, it’s “No (hay) problema” – it’s feminine.
And there’s not a married man alive who’d disagree with that!

Trent’s mind set is definitely trapped in the 1960’s.

You knew she was a babe when you married her, Mike.

Just remember, at least for now, who signs the paycheck.

Good thing Mike is a mellow, Walden-bred hippie. Where I live, “Trent” would be beaten like a hytler pinata at a Mossad picnic.

If I had a wife I would take it as a compliment that I married a “babe”.
