That’s what I wear for mowing the lawn, with a stained white dress shirt.

Fashion is cyclical… so brace yourself for the shorts of the 70s. Now, ankle or knee white socks with red and black stripes?

Only becauze he doesn’t retire his shorts until they have holes in places you don’t want holes.

The store where I buy my “athletic” shoes (I stand a lot) donates clients’ used shoes to a charity for the homeless. Sounds like Frazz could make a lot of people less unhappy.

Slippery with sweat.

One of the nice things about being both old and retired (no their not the same thing) is that you don’t care about fashion. Comfortable is much more important.

How about retired running sweats?

I read this 4 or 5 times and I just couldn’t get it, so I saved the strip in a separate tab. After going through my other comics, I went into the Frazz comments and no one was asking for an explanation. huh? So, I reread the strip again and noticed that the item mentioned in the last panel was “shorts”, not "shoes. : – / : – )

(possibly, the “shorts” comments here primed my brain to see it.)

All I wear are Converse Chuck Taylors.

Running shoes eventually evolve (or would it be de volve?) into sandals.
