If Pierpoint was one of my students he would be called a badger, not a porcupine. That was the name for the infrequent student who was stuck at my elbow, chattering, and asking questions about a variety of non-subjects. Had to avoid sudden turns or stops because I might have stepped on him/her. Wasn’t a bad kid, just somehow dependent on the nearest adult for acknowledgment.
Thank you for your dedication to education. Were it not for teachers and instructors, my life would be vastly different and not in a good way.
Only my opinion, but I think we all have a bit of Pierpoint in us. We all need a bit of acknowledgment and affirmation from time to time. Kids especially so.
