The average was $2.36 when Trump was in office. Biden had already driven it up to $3.57 before Ukraine, and now it’s getting worse. Get rid of this guy before he bankrupts the country!

Democracy will end over the price of gas. Republicans are already saying what they are going to do when elected. They are going to investigate Fauci as they could care less about gas prices.

People care more about $5 a gallon gasoline than children being gunned down in schools.

So vote Republican for cheaper fossil fuels.

With the money you save, you can buy your children Kevlar school clothing. /s

People will comment that President Biden cannot affect the price of gas. From his campaign:

Joe Biden @JoeBidenUnited States government officialWe have to treat climate change like the existential threat it is. As president, I will:

    - End subsidies for fossil fuel corporations- Ban new drilling on federal lands & waters- Hold oil executives accountable- Rally the world to raise the commitments of the Paris Agreement6:34 PM · Mar 15, 2020·TweetDeck2,760 Retweets 979 Quote Tweets 10K Likes"

He stopped construction on Keystone (which would be complete), shut down two other pipelines, removed millions of acreage from oil exploration, and increased regulatory requirements on current leases making many unprofitable to develop. Those were specific administration procedures. Price was already up over 70% by Thanksgiving.

As for Russia, Biden lifted sanctions on Nord Stream II. “Senate Foreign Relations Committee Chairman Bob Menendez (D-N.J.) and Sen. Jeanne Shaheen (D-N.H.) asked Blinken in a March letter to stop the pipeline by building a strong sanctions package.” (from The Hill). Biden still lifted sanctions.

Troops started massing near the Ukraine border in March 2021, Putin knowing Biden was weak and would not do anything. Biden didn’t (see above). More troops were added in June 2021 and Biden and Europe did nothing. Limited sanctions were proposed in November, but were pretty toothless, as the administration did not want to antagonize Germany, now even more dependent on Russian gas. More troops were added with no repercussions. Russian invaded and oil prices spiked even more.

Yes, Biden had a very strong influence on the price of oil and gasoline, initially with his regulatory attacks on the industry, then by incompetence in Russian policy.

When gas is $25 a gallon, it will finally be more expensive than green energy.

A week’s worth of gas costs millions of dollars, Jeff? Even for a jumbo jet, I suspect that’s an exaggeration.

So this cartoon doesn’t really seem to be a comment on the economy, but merely an attempt to incite partisan anger.
