My dad ate at 7:00 am, 11:30 am and 5:30 pm. And had a sweet snack about 7:30 pm, some days (one stick of licorice). I never heard him mention being hungryā€¦ though Mom did manage to feed him on schedule about 99% of the time

Do you use the same method, Earl, when youā€™re either peckish or famished?

Body clocks are usually as accurate as time pieces when it comes to regular feeding times. Impulse is second and more likely to get notice.

I donā€™t really get this one. Do we old folks not know if weā€™re hungry, and have to consult our watches to find out? First Iā€™ve heard of it in almost 80 years.

Being retired and living alone, my mealtimes can vary by several hours. It all depends on whatā€™s going on.

I had thought dieting would be easy. Once upon a time, I went on survival training in the Rockies with a total of 1500 calories in emergency rations to see me through a full week of active hiking and camping. I lost 20 pounds, which was 1/6 th of my body weight at the time.

Yep, I was hungry for a week. Now ā€¦ Iā€™m on a diet ā€¦ and Iā€™ve been hungry all the time for a month (and with no majestic scenery). :) :(
