uh we all do that – no?

That’s why I have a 6" fan clipped to my table: to blow on my face and keep it cool. Between fibro’s hot and cold flashes and perimenopause, my body does weird temp changes.

I used to do that as a kid with our in-window air conditioner unit. It was nice to snuggle under the blankets on an otherwise hot Summer night. Also I had been used to the white noise from the a/c, and didn’t sleep as well without it. The habit irritated my energy-bill-conscious father.

President Nixon, so said his daughter, Tricia, would crank up the air conditioner in the White House living quarters so he could enjoy a fire in the fireplace.

in other words, a thoughtless idiot…

The pressure of the blanket provides comfort and makes it easier to sleep for a lot of people. They even make weighted blankets for people who are not comforted with the weight of a regular blanket

And yet Aunty, you complain about the cost of things. Remember less air conditioning, more wine.

Power surges! I sleep with a fan in my face, too. Also have a fan on in the living room, Graves disease=permanent menopause. Have a window cracked in the bedroom year ’round, yet two layers of duvet . I hear you, Freyja, loud and clear!

Well how else am I going to use my weighted blankets in the summer? Or sleep at all….

I set my a/c at 74 at 5 pm. I also sleep with the fan on to get to sleep. I turn the a/c up to 79 when I get up in the morning.

And this makes you different how?

It’s a odd time of the year to be thinking of that.

I prefer the icicles on the inside of my windows. That’s why my dogs have their own blankets.

So AMAZING how we all sleep differently when it’s cold outside and have to use heat inside.

I dated a woman in College who, on a night when the AC was broken and the temperature was up to 95 Degrees, wanted to sleep under a Heavy Winter Quilt.
