The one I loved actually came from DC comics near the end of the 20th century. They had one of the female members of L.E.G.I.O.N. come crashing through the skylight, and the guy trying to pick out his identity said “It’s an omen! I shall become…a woman!”
And thus was born “Womanman!” and his sidekick, “Girl, the Boy Wonder!”
