To be fair I’ve seen some places where the curbs need mountaineering equipment to scale, almost. I can only assume they get near biblical floods from time to time.

That’s why we have ADA compliant crosswalks.

The older I get, the more I am convinced that Hubbles Law (v = H*r) applies not only to expanding galaxies, but expanding curbs, hills, waistlines, etc.

Where’s his cane?

It’s not the 4" curb that’ll take me down but the 1/2" high split in two sections of sidewalk.

Especially after knee replacement surgery.

Most annoying is when your knee goes “crick” half way up a flight of stairs.

That’s one of the few times “Hollywood” curbs are nice to have.

Less jay walking with time. Though appreciated, even the nubby treads in the curb cuts can be a concern.

Two reasons there.. those trifocal glasses really magnify stuff.. and, you are shorter.

Once you start wearing bifocals you have to watch stepping down off a curb too.

Was standing recently on a ledge about 1 1/2 ft. high. Looked down and said I better not risk it. Hope no one saw me chicken out. :)

On the “where’s his cane” – wait ’til you hit 85 and then ask the question again. It may not be necessary for the cane – one just needs to step higher then when you were 1/2 your age to avoid tripping

How about when you jump off a small porch instead of taking the two or three steps, and you remind yourself you had better not try that again?
