… proved anything he hadn’t done in any other successful start he’d had?

Gregg out of the bullpen in final, deciding, tight game that Milford loses on squeeze bunt? Or does charging infielder bail him out?

P1 No idea what’s going on there, is that a Goshen player, now wearing red and black watching Eldrick’s home run ball heading for earth’s orbit, or is that Eldrick somewhere down the line near the outfield scanning the skies for extraterrestrial threats?

P2 Curtis is going to get one in the ear next time at bat for showing up the pitcher after his big home run

P3 “Only that eyesight is overrated. Next start for all the marbles, I’m going to pitch wearing a blindfold under my Darth Vader mask.”

This story arc wraps up next week, and then a new writer comes on.

Will the new story arc be a search for the missing softball team? Or will Greggg Hammm try to become Milford’s best blind golfer?

Eldrick Boston’s home run traveled an estimated 650 feet.

Instead of showing a bald, paunchy guy that should’ve retired 10 years ago, they could at least show a young TV reporter, similar in age to HB.

P3: uh, make that 9 runs, as it looks like Curtis Charles neglected to touch home in P2 after “going deep”.

P 1: I once saw Hank Aaron look at a ball like that when he was in left at Wrigley field and Billy Williams knocked one well out of the park

I think the championship is going to be won on a suicide squeeze bunt by Scooter. Scooter calls the play since Gil is at country club. Otherwise, why all the bunting panels at the beginning.

I’d appeal that touching of plate in P2. Sure looks like he is going to miss it.

Yesterday we were wondering if Goshen’s uniforms would change from the unusual green color to the standard opponent light blue, or the opponent matching red color. Well, we got the latter. The red with black that usually Milford wears. I actually thought that was a Milford player watching the home run in P1. Apparently the colorist did too. And speaking of apparently, apparently today’s Mopped Up Thorp is online.

Hmm. With the notice of a new writer starting a week from Monday, it now means that maybe Milford does win the title and make the playoffs. Which usually means a one and done. Unless they drag out this final regular season game for about 4 days. We do still need to see Mr. Hammmm accept his lot in life and allow himself to be photographed and realize that absolutely nobody gives a crap. But that should only be 2 days max.

I did predict the “Gregggg struggles in the first inning due to all the media, but then settles down and pitches great” angle, because, well, whenever there’s some dumb pressure reason the player starts out poorly but finishes great. So not that impressive. I was figuring though that they’d lose despite his heroic performance.
